A civilian holding a degree in petroleum engineering was shot dead on Friday by a Houthi sniper in the besieged city of Taiz, Yemen’s third-largest city, local sources said.
Mahfouz Ali Abdul-Jalil Dael was gunned down as he was heading to visit his parents in Osaifra area, north of Taiz city, by a Houthi sniper positioned in Hameed Hill, Yemen Shabab Net reported, citing local sources.
According to the source, the victim was preparing to travel to one of the neighboring countries after he was offered a job in his field of specialization.
The incident comes two days following the killing of a young girl by a Houthi sniper in Maqbana district, west of the seven-year besieged city of Taiz.
For the past two weeks, more than 7 civilians, including three women and two children, have fallen victim to Houthi snipers in Taiz city where the Houthis have imposed a sieged and cut main roads to the city since 2015.
