A man was killed and his brother wounded on Sunday in an explosion of a landmine laid by the Iran-backed Houthi militia in the southern province of Al Dhalea.

Resident Hani Mohsen Saleh was killed and his brother sustained serious injuries when a landmine laid by the Houthi militia went off while the victims were on their way to their farm in Demt district, Al Dhalea province, local sources said.

This comes two days after a 12-year-old boy was shot by a Houthi sniper while working on his family’s farm in Batar area, north of the southern province of Al Dhalea.

Last Saturday, the Fifth Military Region announced the destruction of 50000 mines and explosives laid by the Houthi group in Haja province, north Yemen.

Reports say an intimated one million mines and explosives have been randomly laid by the Houthi militia in large swaths of Yemen where thousands of civilians have been killed, wounded, or maimed due to these deadly mines.
