Intense Clashes Flare-up between Houthi Militia and Pro Govt forces South Hodeiah

Republican Yemen
Fierce clashed broke out Friday night between Houthi militia and pro-government forces south of the key port city of Hodeidah.
A military source said Al Amaliqa Brigade foiled a wide-scale assault launched by the Houthi militia, inflicting heavy losses among the militia.
According to the same source who spoke on condition of anonymity, the battles took place in Al Durayhmi district, Al Khamseen area, Kilo 16, and behind Al Hodeiah airport, leaving scores dead on both sides.
The Houthi escalation came just hours following a briefing made by UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, who expressed his concerns over the U.S. designation of Houthis as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) ignoring Houthi breaches of a ceasefire truce in Hodeida and repeated crimes committed against innocent civilians.
