Republican Yemen

One civilian was killed and two others wounded on Thursday in a mine explosion laid by the Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Al Jawf province.

Mohammed Akroot was killed and Mohammed Al Shairi and Ali Lasheeb wounded when the car they were in went over a landmine laid in a main road that connects Al Yateema and Al Khab districts in the northern province of Al Jawf, local sources said.

Reports say  the Houthi militia has planted an estimated one million landmines in large swaths of the country. Such mines have reportedly killed, wounded or maimed over 10000 civilians.
