At least 48 civilians have been killed or wounded due to landmines laid by the Iran-backed Houthi militias, Yemen National Military Web (YNMW) has revealed.
The YNMW said monitoring teams have documented 18 incidents of explosions caused by landmines and improvised explosives in 8 provinces from last June to September.
“In 100 days, 25 civilians were killed due to landmines laid by Houthi militia, and 23 others were wounded,” YNMW said.
According to international and local reports, the Houthi group has laid over a million mines in large swaths of the country. Such mines have caused over 10000 deaths and injuries among unsuspecting civilians.
