Houthi-laid mine killed a woman in Taiz

A woman was killed by a landmine laid by Houthi rebels west the five-year besieged city of Taiz, Yemen’s third-largest city.

Forty-year-old Fakhria Saif Thabet Al Aqeeri was killed in a mine explosion while shepherding in Jabal Habshi district, west Taiz, a local source said.

locals said three more anti-personnel landmines were found in the area, where Fakhria was killed.

In Taiz alone, over1800 civilians have fallen victim to landmines, planted by the Iran-backed Houthis militias, according to a recent official report.
