A Houthi commander was killed along with other combatants in the southern province of Al Dhalea, the Yemeni army said on Sunday.
September Net, Yemen National Military Web, said Ali Mohamed Ali Al-Zarqi was killed, along with a number of Houthi rebels, in the city of Qa’taba in the province.
“Al-Zarqi was the commander of the so-called operation of frontlines in Al Dhalea governorate,” September Net said.
It noted that forces of the Yemeni army launched a quick assault on the rebels, causing the militias to suffer heavy losses, but did not give an exact number of casualties.
The province of Al Dhalea has 9 districts, with the rebels controlling 3 and the other 5 districts held by forces backed the Saudi-led coalition.
