Four people, from the same family, were killed or wounded on Monday in a mine explosion northwest the port city of Aden, Yemen’s interim capital.
Two people were killed and another two wounded when a landmine, believed to be laid by Houthis in 2015, went off in Aden, Al Mashad Al Yamani reported, citing local sources.
According to the source, the explosion took place near the headquarters of the 31st Brigade in a deserted area in Bair Ahmed district.
Locals said the victims were on their way to check on their land when their car ran over a landmine, resulting in the explosion and the killing of two of them.
The Iran-backed Houthi rebels had reportedly laid thousands of mines in Aden before they were driven back from the city in late 2015.
