Civilian Mohammed Al-aizi Qabel died of his wounds on Sunday, a few days after he had been released from Houthi-run prisons where he was subject to brutal torture, local sources said.
Mohammed Al-aizi Qabel and four of his sons were abducted and forcibly disappeared on April 15 by the Iran-backed Houthis, Al Sahwa Net reported.
The source noted that Al-aizi was released last week after his health worsened due to enduring severe torture.
No one knows the whereabouts of Al-aizi’s four sons as the Houthi militias still hold them in their secret prisons, refusing to reveal their fate or the place of their detention.
Mohammed Al-aizi was the father of late journalist Abdullah Qabel who was killed in 2015 when Houthi rebels used him and his colleagues as human shields in one of its military sites in the city of Dhamar that was targeted by airstrikes.
