Intense clashes broke out on Friday between government forces and the Iran-linked Houthi militias in Al-Jawf governorate, north Yemen.
Director of the media office of Al-Jawf, Yahya Qamaa, said fierce clashes have been taking place since morning in Jadafar area, east of Al-Hazm district, capital of Al Jawf province.
He asserted, in a tweet, that the government forces managed to recapture new sites east of al-Hazm district and seized several military vehicles that were possessed by the militias.
According to Yahya Qamaa, air raids launched by the Saudi-led coalition targeted gatherings of the militias, killing 20 Houthi militants and destroying several armored vehicles.
Last month, the Houthi rebels said they had successfully controlled the entire province of Al-Jawf.
