Houthis Abduct University Professor Over Social Media Posts

Republican Yemen

The Iran-aligned Houthi militia abducted on Monday a professor at Hodeidah University over posts on social media.

Wadea’ Al-Sharjabi, who lectures at the Media Department of Hodeidah University, was taken to an unknown destination, a local source said.

Earlier this week, Al-Sharjabi criticized, on his Facebook account, the militia for arresting three students at Hodeidah University, calling on Houthis to immediately release the students.

Mujahed Waheeb Almasali, Osama Aish, and Adel al-Hakeem were arrested by the Houthis group on charges of cooperation with pro-government joint forces on the West Coast.
