Houthi shelling kills a woman and two children in al-Bayda

Republican Yemen

At least three civilians were killed and several others wounded on Friday when the Iran-backed Houthi insurgents launched artillery shells targeting a local market in central Yemen.

According to local sources, the casualties include a woman, her kid, and another child who happened to be in al-Okla market during the shelling in the province of al-Bayda.

Meanwhile, large-scale attacks conducted by the Houthi militias were thwarted in Taiz and Hodeidah where forces loyal to the government foiled Houthi attacks east of Taiz and south the port city of Hodeidah, causing heavy losses to the militias.

This comes after announcing a shaky ceasefire last week to curb the novel coronavirus outbreak in Yemen.
