A landmine laid by Iran-aligned Houthis killed two kids on Thursday in Al Durayhimi district, located south the port city of Hodeidah.
According to locals, the two children, who are siblings, were killed in a mine explosion that had been planted near their house in Al-Mareef village.
Abdullah Ahmed Ali Dawla, 10, and Salem Ahmed Ali Dawla,12, died minutes after the explosion took place, a medical source spoke on condition of anonymity.
Reports say the Houthi rebels have laid an estimated one million mines in large swaths of the country since 2015 when they overran Sana’a, Yemen’s capital. Such mines have claimed thousands of lives and maimed even more civilians.
