The top leader of the Iran-backed Houthi group, Abdulmalik al-Houthi, said on the occasion of the anniversary of the killing of the group’s founder, Hussein Al-Houthi, his elder brother, that his brother talked directly to God, accusing the United States of America of spreading the new pandemic, coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.
The Houthi leader claimed in a televised speech aired by the rebel-owned Almasira TV that the U.S is waging a biological war against its opponents and enemies.
“America and some countries have huge laboratories with great capabilities that work to use harmful viruses that spread epidemics and kill people,” he said.
The militias’ leader allegedly noted that his brother received direct orders from God to take the lead, Al Masira quoted him on Twitter
Abdulmalik al-Houthi was not the only Houthi leader to accuse the U.S of spreading coronavirus.
Minister of Information in the so-called Houthi government Dhaifullah al-Shami also said that the U.S seeks to undermine its enemies by such a biological war.
“America seeks to ensure the outbreak of corona in enemy countries like Yemen and Syria, but it failed to crack them[..],” al-Shami tweeted.
He also called for facing the virus in the same way they confront “their jets and arms,” meaning Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
