Two people, from the same family, were killed on Sunday in Al Durayhimi district, located to the south of the port city of Hodeidah.
According to locals, Aish Hasan Junaid and Ali Aish Ahmed Junaid were killed in al-Hamra village when a landmine laid by the Houthi militia went off as they were riding on a bike.
The explosion killed the two unsuspecting men in an instant, the sources said.
Reports say the Iran-backed Houthi rebels have, since they overran the capital Sana’a in 2015, planted an estimated 1000000 unmarked landmines in large swaths of the war-torn country. Such mines have killed and maimed thousands of unarmed civilians.
