A university professor slaughtered his own six-year-old daughter Thursday in the rebel-held capital Sana’a.
Sources close to the professor said he has been suffering from psychological pressure as his financial conditions kept deteriorating.
It has been a long while since his salary was paid. He started to suffer from acute depression and his debts constantly increased. As a result, he isolated himself at home and his conditions drastically worsened, according to the sources.
So far there are no confirmed details for the motive behind the murder.
It is noteworthy to mention that people in Houthi-controlled areas live in dire straits as salaries have not been paid for a long time.
In late June, a father of three young females drowned his own daughters to death in a water tank in Sana’a, saying that he could not bear to see his own daughters go homeless and decided to put an end to the misery they had been facing.
