658 Landmines cleared during the second week of November, says Masam

Masam, the Saudi Project for Landmine Clearance in Yemen, has announced it cleared as many as 658 landmines during the second week of November.

The Saudi project has been demining landmines laid by Iran-backed Houthis for two years as they have managed to extract a total of 105 thousand mines and explosive devices since they started their mission.

Reports say that Houthis have laid about a million mines in large swaths of the country, turning Yemen to be the largest minefield in the world. As a result, thousands of innocent civilians have been killed or maimed by those mines.
