Yemen’s Govt, STC Officially Ink Saudi-brokered Agreement

(Republican Yemen) ___ Yemen’s internationally recognized government and the Southern Transitional Council (STC) officially inked the Saudi-sponsored agreement on Tuesday in Riyadh, the kingdom’s capital.

The main focus of the agreement is to strengthen Yemeni people’s unity in countering the Iranian scheme, completing restoration of the state and ending the Houthi coup, the government said in a press statement.

The agreement stipulates the formation of a new national unity government within 45 days made up of 24 ministers, half of them from northern governorates and the other from southern governorates.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Yemeni President Abdrabu Mansur Hadi, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Zayed, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Aidrous Al Zoubaidi, the leader of the Southern Transitional Council.
