Two Al-Qaeda Terrorists Killed in US Drone Attack in Yemen
(Republican Yemen) __ Two suspected Al-Qaeda terrorists were killed Friday in a US drone strike in a desert area situated between the northern Yemeni provinces of Marib and Al Jawf, according to a tribal source.
Khamis bin Arfaj and his brother Turki bin Arfaj, who were suspected to be affiliated with Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), were killed in an area called Raydan after being targeted by an unmanned aircraft, the source spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals.
AQAP has long been considered the global network’s most dangerous branch which has carried out terrorist attacks in different Arabic and European countries.
Since the war broke out in 2015, AQAP and ISIS have seen a chance to exploit the power vacuum and expand their presence in the country.
