Houthi Rebels Sentence Two Staff Members of PSD to Death

A rebel-controlled court sentenced on Wednesday two staff members of the Political Security Department (PSD) to death for allegedly leaking information to the “aggression,” a term used by Houthis to refer to the Arab Coalition.

Farouk al-Humiri and Tariq Mohammed al-Sufi, working as secretaries in the Political Security Department, were sentenced to death by a Houthi-run court on the pretext of transferring information to the coalition, Attorney Abdulrahman Barman wrote on Twitter.

He added that the trial was secretly held in Political Security Department without the presence of lawyers for the two accused.

The Houthi militia has been notorious for using the judicial institution to issue death sentences against its political opponents on fabricated, baseless charges.
