July 23 (Republican Yemen)___ Yemeni officials and figures renewed calls on the international community to put Houthis on the international list of terrorist organizations a couple of days after Houthi militants killed and dragged the corpse of, Mujahed al-Ghooli, one of their key comrades in the streets of Amran.
In a statement to state-run Saba agency, Information Minister Muammar al-Eryani demanded “the international community and all organizations concerned with human rights to take a clear position towards the terrorism of the militia” that overthrew the government from the capital Sana’a in September 2014.
“These crimes which affected even (the Houthi) militants themselves underscore the savageness and blood thirst of the militia and underscore the fact that the Houthi religious ideology is based on bloodshed ,” he added. “Putting them on the terror lists has become a necessity to preserve security, peace and co-existence.
Ali Albukhaiti, a politician and freelance writer, criticized the international community for turning a blind eye to the atrocious crime committed by the Iran-aligned rebels.
“The word seems it doesn’t care that Houthis drag corpses of Yemenis in the street, blow up their houses, and plant unmarked mines in large swaths of the country, including houses and roads,” he said “In contrast, some countries try to build relations with this terrorist group.”
He described the act as an ISIS-Style inhumane crime affirming that no one would ever commit such atrocity except for repulsive, terrorist groups like ISIS, AQAP and most recently Houthis. Other prominent writes, like Muhammed Jumaih and Mohammed Aish, expressed deep concern wondering how much worse should things go before Yemen is salvaged from these sectarian gangs.
