July 21 (Republican Yemen)__Two children were killed and their mom sustained serious injuries late Saturday by an artillery shell launched by Iran-backed Houthi rebels in the four-year besieged city of Taiz, Yemen’s third-largest city.
Heba Mohammed Al Samadi and Heiam Mohammed Al Samadi were killed and their mom was critically wounded when the rebels targeted their house in Dar Alnasr area in Saber Mountain.
“The girls had already died when the paramedics moved them to the hospital while their mom, who sustained serious injuries, is receiving medical treatment,” a doctor at Al Safwa Hospital told Republican Yemen on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to brief the media.
Houthi militia has imposed an estranged siege on Taiz since late 2015. Not only did the militia impose a fatal siege, but it also targeted residential areas with indiscriminate shelling and artillery. Since then, hundreds of civilians have been killed and thousands injured, most of whom unarmed civilians.
