Landmine Explosion Kills Two Civilians in Al Jawf

A man and a woman were killed today when a landmine planted by the Iranian-backed militia exploded in Al Jawf, north Yemen.

A landmine laid in the main road of Bart Alanan district went off and killed a man and his sister in law, a local source told 26 September Net.

The two civilians died as soon as the landmine went off, according to the local source.

In 2018, 38 children were killed and 190 injured across Yemen by unexploded ordnances, mines and explosive remnants of war, the UNICEF said.

Houthi militia have laid unmarked mines in roads, houses, and government facilities where they had to withdraw from.  As a result, unsuspecting civilians — on a weekly basis— fall victim such minefields.
