Houthi rebels targeted Ikhwan Thabet Commercial and Industrial Complex, one of the biggest complexes in the city, and the Red Sea Mills east of the coastal city, in al-Hudaydah, west of Yemen.
According to military sources, the rebels shelled the industrial complex today at dawn with several mortars causing huge flames inside the complex.
The sources confirmed that the complex is not near a miltary zone and was completely destroyed as a result of the fire caused by the shelling, causing large losses estimated at billions.
The armed militia also shelled the Red Sea mills with mortar shells, hours after the shelling of Ikhwan Thabit complex.
Earlier, the UN warned that the huge wheat stock was at risk of rotting and urged Houthis, who still refuse to cooperate, to restore access to a grain storage site at the port city of Hudayda after worsening famine in the country.
A number of violation cases have been reported against Houthis since the announcement of the first phase of redeployment.
